Parent and Swimmer Commitment
Welcome to the
Greene Hills Gators Swim Team.
The coaching staff puts many hours in to make this the quality program it
has become. We have two points of
emphasis this season:
1)
INCENT SWIMMERS TO PARTICIPATE IN AS MANY SWIM MEETS AND PRACTICES
AS POSSIBLE WITH SPECIAL RECOGNITION.
2)
REQUIRE ALL SWIMMERS/PARENTS TO NOTIFY COACHES OF
ABSENCES FROM SWIM MEETS BY THE THURSDAY
PRACTICE BEFORE THE SWIM MEET.
We know it is difficult to
attend all swim meets with summer vacations and camps.
However, as GHG becomes more competitive within the Jefferson Swim League
– attendance becomes critical in competing against larger teams.
While the Division II
meets are the ones that count in the league standings, since there is gold
& silver scoring, it is important for the team to have as many swimmers as
possible at the first non-division meet.
This allows the team to get a good balance of swimmers with gold times to
maximize the ability to score points for both gold and silver times in the first
Division II meet.
The past few seasons there has
been deterioration
in communicating to the coaches that a swimmer will miss a swim meet.
We have had messages left the afternoon of a swim meet that a swimmer
will miss that nights meet with no explanation.
The coaches plan the events the weekend before a meet and need to know
when a swimmer will miss a meet.
BY SWIMMING WITH THE GREENE HILLS GATORS, YOU COMMIT
TO NOFITY THE COACHES THE THURSDAY BEFORE A MEET IF THE MEET WILL BE MISSED
(or as soon as possible in the event of an emergency).
